Number one tip for future study abroad students?

MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE LOCALS-Even if they don’t see like they want to be friends 😛

The reality about studying abroad is you can google travel ideas and ask hostel and restaurant owners all you want about the area for ideas BUT locals will always show you a better time when you spend time with them. When Anny, Nick, Matthew and I went on our trip to Hogsback and Graaf Reinet, it was absolutely fantastic.

We were able to do a real South African braai in the middle of nowhere, stayed in some rustic places (and by rustic I mean…I showered outside where horses could stare at my vulnerable body and went to the bathroom in something less sanitary or comfortable than a full port-o-potty ), enjoyed amazing food, and even better company.
