In January 2016 I traveled to Los Angeles to visit family and I took this opportunity to visit a few architectural landmarks, including the Broad and the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA and Taliesin West in Arizona.
The Broad, LA
Opened in September 2015, the Broad in Downtown Los Angeles is a contemporary museum that has quickly gained popularity (leading to wait times of between 30 minutes and 3 hours). Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, notable for the Blur Building in Yverdon and the High Line in New York, this museum utilises an innovative ‘veil-and-vault’ concept.
