Hindustan Socialist Republican Association a revolutionary organization was formed  with the aim of Indian independence through armed struggle to end British rule.Revolutionaries of  HSRA wanted to establish an Independent Socialist Republican of India in which all people of country should be treated equally in terms of economically, socially and politically.

Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) was a revolutionary organization,  established in 1928 at Feroz Shah Kotla New Delhi by Chandrasekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and others. Previously it was known as Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) whose written constitution and published manifesto titled The Revolutionary was produced as a witness in the Kakori conspiracy case of 1925. Likewise the Hindustan Republican Association (HSRA) was also a revolutionary organization which worked more dangerously from 1928 to 1931 in the Indian subcontinent to uproot the British Raj from the country through armed struggle. The Non-cooperation movement of 1920 led to large scale mobilization of Indian population against the British rule. Though intended as a Nonviolent resistance movement, it soon turned violent. After the Chauri Chaura incident, Mohandas K. Gandhi suspended the movement to prevent escalation of violence. This disillusioned a section of nationalists who felt the suspension was premature and unwarranted. The political vacuum created by the suspension led to the formation of revolutionary movements by the more radical amongst those who sought to overthrow British rule.
