Cirque du Soleil, the world-renowned circus and theatrical entertainment specialists, return to Amsterdam from 18 March until 1 May 2016. During their stay in the city they’ll be wowing audiences with their acclaimed Amaluna show, taking place in their dedicated Grand Chapiteau tent situated at P2, near the Amsterdam Arena in Zuidoost. Amaluna is one of Cirque du Soleil’s successful touring shows, coming to Amsterdam for the very time in spring 2016!
As always, incredible circus acrobatics, dance and physical performance is at the heart of the performance, with a narrative loosely inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’. The story of Amaluna is set on a mysterious island that’s governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon. After a group of men are washed up on the island’s shore following a terrible storm, a visually dramatic love story unfolds.
