Jamadagni Rishi is considered to be one of the Sapta Rishis and father of Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Bhagvan Vishnu. He was a great sage in the lineage of Rishi Bhrigu. He was the son of Sage Richika and Satyavati. He married Renuka and had five sons, Rumanvat, Sushena, Vasu, Vishavasu and Parashurama.There is a popular shrine dedicated to Jamadagni Rishi is located at Malana in Himachal Pradesh.
